Package Manager is a replacement for the standard Install Package Files option under Game in the XMB. It allows for the install and deletion of .pkg files from dev_hdd0/packages, dev_usb/packages and the standard Install Package Files locations. In addition to this, your downloaded PSN content ‘bubbles’ will appear under this option instead of cluttering your Game menu with uninstalled content.
USAGE:
Navigate to Game in your XMB and click on Package Manager (It will be where Install Package Files usually is). You will find three options.
PlayStation®Network Content
Manage your downloaded PlayStation®Network Content.
Install Package Files
INSTALL package files from Storage Devices and your PS3.
PS3 Hard Disk (dev_hdd0/packages)
Package Folder (dev_usb/packages) Standard Package Location (Standard Install Package Files locations)
NOTE: The Install All Packages is only available by pressing the TRIANGLE button when the Standard Package Location option is highlighted because the PS3 will only install ALL packages from the root of a storage device as of the moment.
Delete Package Files
DELETE package files from Storage Devices and your PS3.
PS3 Hard Disk (dev_hdd0/packages)
Package Folder (dev_usb/packages) Standard Package Location (Standard Install Package Files locations)
DELETING FILES:
1: Highlight the file you would like to delete and press TRIANGLE. The sidebar should appear. 2: Press CROSS on either Unlink or Unlink(Folder) (Both do the same thing for now). REBUG TOOLBOX
Rebug Toolbox is application designed to complete the full function of REBUG REX EDITION firmwares. Besides from performing the CEX/DEX EID0 and LV2 Kernel Swapping it is also an FTP server and is packed with a bunch of other useful tools.

SELECTORSYSTEM MODE: Switches between NORMAL and REBUG mode
NORMAL mode which uses the DEBUG XMB is the default mode after installing Rebug.
REBUG mode sets the PS3 to the latest available version spoof (updatable in the future) and allows swapping between RETAIL and DEBUG XMB.
XMB OPERATION MODE:
This option only works in REBUG mode and lets you select either the RETAIL or DEBUG XMB.
** RETAIL MODE ensures Media Server Connection PERMA-Enabled **
Gives you the choice of the CEX QA (retail) or DEX (debug) Debug Settings menu.
TOGGLE COBRA MODE:
COBRA mode is disabled by default, this option can toggle COBRA mode to enable COBRA 7.1 payload on boot [dongless NO DRM feature see below]
PS2 Emulator files are pre-patched for COBRA MODE due to its multi compatibility with original mode, however, if you want to restore original unpatched PS2 emulators, download and install “FULL” version of REBUG TOOLBOX 2.02.05, this fixes the issue with PS2 playback while on NON-COBRA mode.
TOGGLE WEBMAN
This is also disabled by default, unlike previous REBUG/COBRA release, this won’t be auto-enabled when COBRA gets enabled. However, to enjoy better experiences with COBRA, please enable webMAN
LV1 PATCHESA collection of LV1 patches that can be used for better compatibility with some PS3 tools. Any combination of these patches can be applied before booting OtherOS. CEX/DEX (REX EDITION ONLY)
SWAP LV2 KERNEL:
Swaps between CEX and DEX LV2 Kernel. This option will only work if your Target ID is set to DEX *NEW METHOD SINCE 2.02.02 / 4.65.2*
TOOLBOX Can dump your EID ROOT KEY without old eid root key dumper that was used for 3.55 / 4.21 while back, because it has its bulit-in eid root key dumper integrated for both CEX/DEX mode on 4.75 CFW this is universal feature, and toolbox can ensure your conversion done in less than 5 mins top, if you dumped your root key via toolbox’s utility tab, then toolbox will ask you if you’d like to continue flash-less auto conversion.
*OLD METHOD SINCE REX 3.55*
This option requires you have a valid NOR/NAND dump named correctly on dev_usb000. Use EXPORT FLASH TO FILE function found in the UTILITIES menu to dump your NOR/NAND to dev_usb000 and then use c2d.exeto convert your dump to DEX.
Rename your original CEX dump to CEX-FLASH.EID0.NORBIN (16mb) or CEX-FLASH.EID0.NANDBIN (239mb or 256mb)
Rename your converted DEX dump to DEX-FLASH.EID0.NORBIN (16mb) or DEX-FLASH.EID0.NANDBIN (239mb or 256mb)
Once you have prepared your NOR/NAND dumps place them on a USB device and connect it to dev_usb000.
Now that you have your valid dumps named properly and connected to dev_usb000 it is a simple as selecting the option and following the onscreen prompts. Takes less than 10secs once you have your dumps prepared.
UTILITIESTOGGLE QA: Enable/Disable QA flag. Enable for easy downgrade and other extra features on all 3.55-4.75 CFW.
TOGGLE RECOVERY MODE:
Enable/Disable Recover Mode flag. When enabled your PS3 will reboot into Recovery Mode.
Enable/Disable Product Mode flag. When enabled your PS3 will reboot into Factory Service Mode. This option is only available for 3.55 CFW for safety reasons.
LOAD LV2 KERNEL:
Load lv2_kernel.self.[KERNEL_NAME] from USB or /dev_hdd0
Backup or Restore the PS3 system settings from USB
RESIZE VFLASH/NAND REGIONS:

Cobra 7.1
What is Cobra 7.XX?
Cobra 6.0 and lower was CobraUSB and needed a USB dongle to use its unique features,. This was the first product by the Cobra Team who is now behind the CobraODE. After the Cobra Team launched the first ODE device, Community News Writer STLcardsWS inquired about the future of the CobraUSB device as it seemed to be shelved (unofficially at the time). STLcardsWS according to the Cobra Team Representative Magneto asked if the device could be made open source for the community, since the team had all but moved onto ODE products. That is when Team Cobra gave in and threw a bone to the PS3 Homebrew Community. Shortly, after that time is when we seen the first official source code release of CobraUSB (link of this story). While this proved to be a huge advancement in the PS3 development community it however was a rough release as it contained all the USB security source code also. While developer’s like u$er was able to use parts and makes sense of some of the functions (which helped create PRX Loader, the first plugin system for the PS3)., most developer struggled with the source as it had alot of unnecessary parts included to protect the USB device when the Cobra Devs wanted to keep this system closed sourced. .
Several weeks later, the Lead CobraUSB developer (who was not aware of the first release when it happened) released the first Dongle-Less Cobra CFW using Rogero’s 4.46 CFW as a base. The developer also updated Cobra 6.0 to Cobra 7.0 with new features and cleaned the source removing all the security garbage (link to this story). Thus making it a complete release with full instructions and details for scene developers. Since that time we have seen its evolve and added to many CFW’s. Below you can view some of the features that are built into Cobra System with some additional explanations.
How to Enable Cobra Features:
INSTALL:
1:On the XMB select Package Manager
2:Select Install Package Files 3:Select PS3 System Storage 4:Select REBUG-TOOLBOX-02.02.05.pkg 5:Access Rebug Toolbox from XMB 6: Scroll to 2nd column Selector, and select 3rd option Toggle Cobra Mode 7: Select Enable, and system will reboot with Cobra now enabled on the CFW.
Cobra 7.1 PS2 Features (4.75 Cobra)
COBRA MODE
COBRA mode / webMAN currently disabled by default, if you want to use Cobra 7.1 features, please enable Cobra mode via REBUG TOOLBOX 2.02.05. Users of previous Cobra CFW 4.55 / COBRA7 and below may experience issues with some games due to improved cobra payload that has updated permission patch, in this case. ***Remove old game data and re-install the game if you run into weird issues. Previous Cobra payload still had its old patches that were used for USB Dongle and mmCM, but not anymore, and this fixes the issue with all non-working games with Cobra. non-Cobra users will not have this problem since their data were not corrupted by old cobra payload.

Here are some additional changes you can expect to see if updating to PS4 Firmware v4.0 (which is expected to block the 3.55 Playground / 3.55 PS4Console) alongside a PlayStation 4 System Software 4.00 Update demo video thanks to @Jeff for sharing in the Shoutbox:
Quick Menu — Music
In addition to updating the Quick Menu to make it easier to access without leaving your game by having it cover only a portion of the screen and making it more customizable, we’ve also added several new items to the menu. One new addition to the Quick Menu that wasn’t featured in the beta program is an enhanced Music section to allow you to discover, play, and control Spotify without needing to open the app.
From the Music section of the Quick Menu you’ll now be able to play, pause, skip, shuffle, repeat and save songs. The Music section also allows you to discover recommended playlists for the game you’re playing and view your saved Spotify playlists and songs. When you select a playlist, you’ll be able to see all upcoming songs and choose to play all, or select an individual song to listen to from that playlist.
The PlayStation Music team and Spotify have been working with your favorite game creators to create playlists to enhance your gameplay. Follow PlayStation Music on Spotify to get the latest gaming playlists first.
PlayStation 4 Pro Updates
In anticipation of the release of PS4 Pro on November 10, 2016, we’re adding a number of features that will support the system’s ability to output high-resolution content. This update will enable the following on PS4 Pro:
- 1080p streaming for Remote Play on PC/Mac and compatible Xperia devices
- 1080p streaming for Share Play
- 1080p 30/60fps live broadcasting on YouTube
- 1080p 30fps live broadcasting on Twitch
When we announced PS4 Pro and the new slimmer PS4 last week, we also announced that all PlayStation 4 systems — back to the very first console sold in 2013 — would be HDR capable. After updating your system to version 4.00, you’ll see HDR settings in the Video Output Settings and be ready to enjoy HDR gaming and entertainment content once it’s available on any PS4 system you own. Of course, you’ll need an HDR compatible display as well.
What’s New
What’s New has been redesigned and now includes more information about what your friends have been doing on PS4.
The left column includes the new Activity Feed, which has larger images and easily accessible options to like, comment, or reshare. The right column includes sections for Now Playing, Trending, Players You May Know, and Who to Follow.
Content Info Screen
We’ve given a similar redesign to the content info screen, which you can access by pressing down on a game tile while on the home screen. You’ll be able to easily select from a variety of options to view a game’s Overview, Trending media, Friends and Communities, Activities, and related PlayStation Store content.
Data Transfer to New PS4
In order to make it easier to get all of your data from one PS4 to another, especially if you upgrade to PS4 Pro, we’ve added the ability to transfer data over a wired LAN connection. You can transfer games, user info, and saved data. Of course, you can re-download content and transfer saves through the cloud, but the LAN transfer should be much faster and easier.
Those are just some of the more prominent additions making their way to PS4 in this update, but there are a number of other refinements to the system software overall. Please enjoy!
